This is the website from singer and guitar player Roos Galjaard. In July 2010 Roos released her new CD “I am water”, containing 10 beautiful, atmospheric songs from the period between 2002 and 2009. Roos composes strong ‘pure’ songs, which she performs with passion and commitment.
Earlier she released two CDs with her band Gather Roses: Beautiful World in 1998 and Together in 2001. The third CD is brought out under her own name, because it concerns a solo project. It does not mean you do not hear any other musicians on her newest record. On the contrary. Four of the ten songs are the result of the fruitful cooperation with multi-instrumentalist Phil Mills. Between 2002 and 2005 they wrote a large number of songs together and recorded these in Phil’s studio in Leeuwarden. Some of the songs can now be heard on “I am water”.
Cellist Fons Sluijter and folk musicians Linde Nijland and Bert Ridderbos have contributed to the more recently written songs. The angel like voice from Linde and the beautifully played Scottish ‘cittern’ by Bert Ridderbos give a magic touch to a song like Stormy Waters.
